Barry: Put on those dancing shoes

Half of you readers think I'm talking about "Dancing With the Stars." The other half thinks I'm talking about dancing with the stars on the road to the Final Four.

And there's a couple in Monticello who think I'm talking about dancing while wearing the Star of David at their nephew Neil's bar mitzvah.

Everyone has a reason to dance these days.

My son Dustin is doing his own little dance around the house, and it has nothing to do with stars, college hoops or the day Neil becomes a man.

He's doing the return of Mets baseball dance.

I know, it's March. They're still in Florida. The season hasn't even begun. Everyone still has their eyes on those NCAA brackets.

Doesn't matter. Since the middle of October, the kid's been in countdown mode.

I come home, say hello, and he gives me a number.

Savvy Transformation of Unfinished Basement Creates Two-Bath, Home ...

Knowing they could easily convert the basement into a comfortable home-within-a-home for their extended family is what sealed the deal for Pitman and Enoch, a former pipe-fitter plumber and now a home inspector. The couple estimates that going with Saniflo saved $10,000. With no digging to make drainage connections, the bathroom installations only took a little over half a day.

Enoch especially liked the fact that the macerating pumps can be concealed behind the wall, an important advantage in a luxury setting. "That's what sold me on the technology," he says.

When an existing plumbing configuration makes adding a bathroom impractical, Saniflo is the time-saving, cost-effective answer.

Game Review: Chocobo Tales (DS)

There is a certain, everlasting stigma about "kiddie" games that is awfully hard to look past. Whatever merits a given game may or may not have, the simple representation of a game as "kid friendly" can often doom a game to utter neglect by anyone unable to look past their own prejudices; anyone unable to approach a game without a preconceived judgment. Such a stigma will certainly doom Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales, a light-hearted romp through the brighter side of the Final Fantasy franchise without a drop of melodrama or brooding teenage angst to be found. Alas, this lighter side has come with an assured linkage to all things "kiddie" and will likely lead to the general passing-by of this delightfully charming title. For those able to cope with the smiles and sunshine, though, Chocobo Tales offers a very entertaining selection of funny micro-, mini- and card-based games that draws heavily from the heavy favorite of RPG franchises.

Making a play for broadband Broadway Aleks Krotoski

I think I've found the way to break through the geek stereotype that dogs the games industry. It's hot, it's topical and it screams "audience participation". Pay attention, Sony, this one's for free - Computer Game: The Musical.

Before you scoff, hear me out. The thought struck me when I was idly listening to Elaine Page on Radio 2 while waiting to go to a ballroom dancing class. How, I thought, humming along to Masquerade from Phantom of the Opera, have I become this? What happened to the up-for-days, Radio 1-obsessed, rage against the machine, ennui-saturated emo kid I used to be?
